About the All Kids Outdoors Contest

The Outdoors Alliance for Kids and Scholastic teamed up to give kids the opportunity to lift their voices and do their best persuasive writing about why the outdoors matter. We know kids care about the outdoors and we wanted them to have a forum for sharing their views, all the while competing for terrific prizes.

From March 18 – April 19, 2019, the All Kids Outdoors Contest provided teachers, youth program leaders and parents with free tools to help them help kids prepare to do their best persuasive writing and submit their contest entry.  A sample lesson plan and activity primed the creativity pump for 4th – 6th graders, and the cool prizes were the extra incentive for kids to speak (write and draw) their minds.

While the contest is officially over, the resources we provided can still be found free online. You can still help kids tell their stories and share ideas about why the outdoors matter on social media using the #AllKidsOutdoors hashtag.

Follow and share with @OAK_Updates on Twitter.
